If you are not in receipt of a pass-porting benefit, before you can apply for legal aid you will need to provide details of your financial circumstances with supporting financial evidence.
Step 2 - Download Means Assessment form
Please click on the link below to download our means assessment form. YOU SHOULD SAVE THE FORM TO YOUR COMPUTER AND OPEN IT WITH ADOBE READER BEFORE YOU START TO COMPLETE IT. If you do not have Adobe Reader you can download a free version by clicking here.
Step 3 - Complete the form
Please complete the form. It can be partially completed and saved without losing data PROVIDED YOU HAVE DOWNLOADED IT TO YOUR COMPUTER AND USE ADOBE READER TO COMPLETE IT.
Once you have fully completed the form your can submit it to us by clicking the submit button at the end of the form. Step 4 - Supporting financial evidence
As well as completing the Means Assessment form, you will also need to send us your original supporting financial evidence. The evidence we require is detailed in the means assessment form.
Step 5 - Completing your Legal Aid application
Once you have submitted your completed means assessment and sent us your supporting financial evidence, we will begin to prepare your Legal Aid application. If we require clarification about any of your answers or further information or evidence, we will contact you to discuss. If you delay in completing the means assessment or fail to provide us with your financial evidence it will delay your legal aid application.
